wedding Florals by Fiona Pickles
Fiona designs incredible wedding florals, incorporating seasonal and locally grown ingredients across the UK and beyond. She is based in Yorkshire in the North of England and loves nothing more than loading the van with flowers and foliages and travelling far and wide to that perfect venue to make the magic happen.
You love nature (and flowers of course!), your surroundings and the seasons and you would love these to be incorporated into the design of your flowers. You want something utterly beautiful and individual for this celebration of the start of your new life together and the flowers to feel like they have just grown there and have been there for years
To get the absolute best aesthetic for your day, Fiona will hone your vision, moulding it into something beyond what you could imagine, give her a free reign and you will not regret it.
If you have fixed ideas of exactly how you want your bouquets to look, what precise design to have on the tables, or what colour everything should be matched to exactly, then maybe Fiona is not the florist for you. BUT, if you just love Fiona's style and that’s about as far as you have got, if you are happy to remain open minded and for Fiona to make suggestions that maybe you haven’t considered and it won't send your head into a spin, then get in touch now!
About how Fiona works
Fiona achieves the look and style of her designs by taking inspiration from the local surroundings, maybe the church, or the venue, it can be from the most innocuous of items, maybe a tree growing in the churchyard, or the hedges around the venue, or the little wood shed you always loved as a child? Your flowers will always be designed around YOU and what is important to you.
She works in a very natural, unstructured and often asymmetric style, using foraged foliages (with permission!) and British flowers where ever possible and because it is seasonal, it reflects what is actually happening outside at the time. Fiona also tends to work big, very big!

The flowers for your wedding day won’t be a recreation of somebody else’s designs.
The colours will incorporate hues that maybe you hadn’t considered, a dash of mustard to pick out the middle of the peony in your bouquet, or the deep red stem of ‘ninebark' echoed in the gorgeous scabious flower floating high above the others.
It is these small intricate colour considerations and precise design details, combined with the incredible life and movement the locally grown flowers that Fiona uses bring, that elevate Fiona's designs to something utterly special, whilst ensuring they are specific to you and only you.
Fiona grows many flowers in her gardens in Yorkshire and also calls on the many local growers and flower farms for their treasures. She uses locally grown and British grown flowers and foliage as much as possible, only getting flowers from further afield if they are not available here. It is ALWAYS seasonal though!
Your initial meeting would be either at Fiona's workshop and consultation area near Ripponden in West Yorkshire UK, or via Skype if you are overseas.
If you give an initial, vague wish list Fiona will then be able to give a rough approximation of the range of overall investment. Then if that's in line with your thinking, you can secure Fiona and her team for your date by sending a booking fee and the design process can begin for your special day.
To guarantee a cohesive look, Fiona insists that she is the only provider of florals/foliages on the day.
