By using us to design your wedding flowers you will be able to rest safe in the knowledge that we make every decision around your vision. We encourage building up a relationship with you so that we fully understand exactly how you want everything to look, we can advise on which colours work best together, even offering input into the colour of bridesmaids dresses to best compliment your preferred flowers if required (some florists won't even talk to you until you choose you dresses, which is not always realistic). Even the most stressed of brides have told us that even when everything else was giving them nightmares, at least they didn't need to worry about their flowers.
When choosing wedding flowers some couples have fixed ideas and need less guidance, but still need advice on seasonal availability and the practicalities of installing on the day, for example. Others have an idea of what they like but are unsure about most of the process and what is and isn’t possible. Some couples are very wary about thinking about bridal flowers because they know nothing about them and maybe even a little scared.

Firenza Floral Design's exceptional service is designed to ensure that your flowers are at their absolute best on your big day. Some flowers need to be purchased way in advance to ensure they are fully open to get the full benefit of their beauty, others have a very short life and need purchasing at the last possible moment. This can mean several trips to the flower market per wedding as well as intensive care whilst we are storing them. This is just one small example of the little things we do as a matter of course, all of which combine to ensure you get the best possible displays. (We find when our clients actually see us creating the design, be it an archway in the church, or putting the table centres together on site, this is when they actually appreciate the amount of work that goes into our wedding flower designs.)

The initial wedding flower consultation
Take a look at our price guide to give you a rough idea of our prices, you can then arrange a consultation, which would take place at our studio in the beautiful Ryburn Valley, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. You can relax on our slightly sagging sofa, with a cup of Earl Grey and tell Fiona all about your wedding - she loves everything weddingy! You will be able to see the Aladdin's cave of vases, table plans, candelabra, lanterns, bird cages etc, be inspired by the choices and maybe see things you hadn't even thought about.
If possible, bring pictures of flowers you like (and even don’t like), even pictures of wallpaper or house décor all help us to understand the look you want to achieve. We have plenty of portfolios of previous wedding flowers as well as wedding flower magazine and books, which can all provide inspiration if you need it.
We offer weekday, evening and Saturday consultations, although the evening and Saturday appointments are very popular so get booked up quickly. The initial consultation would usually last between 1 and 2 hours and we spend time getting to know you and to understand your vision, before advising on designs.
After your wedding flower consultaion we put together a full estimate, which, if required, can include various options from which you can pick and choose. This estimate will outline all booking and payment requirements, which are as follows:
- To reserve the date a 20% non-returnable deposit is required (minimum charge £200)
- 50% of the final total is required 6 months before your wedding day
- Full payment is required two months before your wedding day
- A minimum 10% hire charge is also required (this may increase if you choose to hire a lot of high value items, eg floor standing crystal candelabra), which is returned upon receipt of all hired items intact.
Placing a booking
Once we receive a deposit you are booked in and as the majority of our weddings are large and involve a lot of work on the day, we only take on one wedding a day. You are not committed to any specific flowers or designs and can change your mind as much or as little as you like at this stage.
Some brides reserve our services by paying the deposit before we meet. This ensures we are available for their date, then we can discuss flowers in more detail at their convenience later. We take bookings a couple of years in advance so popular dates can get booked up very early.
We can meet up as many times as you need between now and your wedding day to make sure you are totally happy with everything we discuss. This is probably the biggest day of your life so we know how important it is that everything is just right.
We recommend a final meeting about 12 weeks before your wedding day. This allows us to finalise quantities and delivery details. We then send you an invoice outlining what you have paid to date, what you owe and what you will receive back after the hired items are returned. The invoice should be paid in full two months before your wedding day. Any last minute changes to quantities or extra items can be dealt with as they arise.
On the day
This is where everything comes together and we work our magic!! Because fIowers are a fresh product, everything has to be done at the last possible moment to ensure maximum freshness - it usually starts with a very early start for us to ensure timely arrival at your venue (mostly after a very late night finishing everything off, so we don't always look our best on your big day!). This allows us plenty of time for all the set up and the final tweaks that are inevitably needed. Because we only do one wedding a day, you know you will have us around to ensure everything looks the best it possibly can and we will make sure all bridal bouquets, buttonholes etc are safely delivered at a previously agreed time.
If you require a lot of flowers for your ceremony as well as your venue these can be set up the day before, depending on access, timings etc. Or, if the ceremony and reception are taking place in the same room, we can be on hand whilst the venue turns the room round to ensure all displays and table centres are placed correctly and double checked.
We are also available to collect items the next day if required, or you can arrange for a member of the wedding party to drop them back with us within about a week (depending on when the hired items are required next).
